I attended the National Alliance for Mental Illness‘s national convention this week (so no roundup from me, kind of). It was hosted in downtown Denver this year with many presentations and exhibits spread across four days. I will admit that I did not attend today as there were not many things going on that interested me and it can be expensive to exist in that area for so many days.
I think I am in a bit of a downswing caused by stress and therapy. The funny thing about therapy, especially for post-traumatic stress, is that it can bring things to the forefront. I’ve always had a lot of ruminating thoughts, but they’ve been downright awful to try to handle lately and with the holiday, my worrywart self is off the charts.
Hey, everyone! I’ve done pretty well with the limits I placed on myself in my No Spend Days article. I did have to edit them a little bit, as I found it kind of unrealistic. My two excursions a week have been changed to two excursions a week that cost money (as I went on three Wednesday alone) and necessities (like deodorant, conditioner, and body wash) are excluded from the ‘me’ purchases.
Happy Father’s Day to all who celebrate it! My dad really appreciated the card I got. It had a dinosaur that said “I love you this much” with its arms as stretched out as possible. The envelope (which I took from a different section without any cards) had a fill-in-the-blank on the outside that said, “I think you’re the ____”. I put “coolest” because he had asked for a lunchbox cooler for work. He appreciated the pun.
Alright, I know this is a bit late (though I did post my May Budget this week!), but I woke up and made an amazing strawberry chocolate chip pancake set and felt like playing video games today, so I took advantage of the mood. I used to love playing video games, but haven’t been enjoying it lately. It was fantastic. So, with a bit of Fallout 4, a mountain of strawberries and chocolate chips, and 8.75 hours of work in my blood (and a couple cups of coffee-haven’t enjoyed that lately, either!) I’m posting the roundup.
